Summer 2018
Original Craigneil Wind Farm application submission following consultation events in Stonehaven and Netherley.
September 2022
Planning permission granted for Craigneil Wind Farm for 11 turbines at 135m tip height, generating capacity at 35 MW.
Introduce plans for the redesign of Craigneil Wind Farm - reduced from 11 turbines to seven turbines, 180m height to tip. Capacity increased from 35MW to 42 MW.
As part of our first round of public consultation for the redesign of the consented Craigneil Wind Farm, ESB is holding two public exhibition events in Stonehaven. They are drop-in events at the following times, please do come along.
PUBLIC EXHIBITION EVENTS
● Mackie Academy (The Plaza), Slug Road, Stonehaven, AB39 3DF on Wednesday 19 June 2024, 4pm – 8pm
● Old Sheriff Court House, Dunnottar Avenue, Stonehaven, AB39 2JH on Thursday 20 June 2024, 2pm – 8pm
The closing date for comments on our revised proposal for this round of consultation is 26 July 2024. We will hold a second round of public consultation including public exhibition events, planned for September 2024. Further information on this will be made available in due course.

Comments made at this stage do not constitute a formal planning representation. An opportunity to make a formal representation will exist when the subsequent planning application is made.
