ESB’s Commitment to Public Safety
Your safety is hugely important to us. To keep everyone as safe and well informed as possible, we’ve created a public safety programme that offers advice and guidance around the potential dangers of electricity.
Managing and maintaining the public’s safety around our gas and electricity supply is our first priority, and we hold ourselves to the highest standards in doing so. We approach this in two ways: through on-going, technical improvements – such as our network refurbishment programme – and by providing our customers with interesting, informative resources focused around safety and electricity.
A wide-reaching focus on safety
As you would expect from an organisation like ours, our power plants and all of our equipment are rigorously and frequently checked to ensure they meet international safety standards. However, it’s important to us that our focus on safety extends beyond our own organisation and power plants.
We want to help you stay safe wherever you are
Our goal is to give you all the information you need to help you stay as safe in your home, but it’s important to remember that it’s your responsibility to make sure that all your electrical and gas equipment is well-maintained and running properly.
There are many simple steps you can take to make sure you’re taking care and staying safe when it comes to electricity, and you probably know a lot of them, but it’s always helpful to learn more about safety around your house.
When it comes to gas, be sure you know just what to do in an emergency if you smell gas as well as the tell-tale signs of Carbon Monoxide poisoning.
