Access to Your Property
At certain times, we will need to gain access to your home to access your meters or equipment.
Your safety comes first
In all cases our representatives/agents will carry identification. Always ask to check it and if you are unsure if that person is representing ESB Energy you can call us on 0345 60 70 372. We’ll check their details and confirm if they are working on our behalf.
ESB Energy, our agents, subcontractors and other bodies that may at times represent us (such as the gas transporter and electricity network operator) will ensure that anyone who visits your home:
- has the necessary skills to carry out the task;
- can be easily identified by you as one of our or their representatives;
- will use any password or signal that you have agreed with us or them in order to help you confirm that they are who they say they are;
- will be able to inform you, if you ask, of a contact point for any help and advice that you may need about your supply of electricity or gas.
As part of your contract with us you have agreed to grant us, our meter reading agents, the gas transporter and the electricity network operator, safe access to your property and the electricity and gas meters when this access is required.
